A CD cozy can be made plainly or with more decoration. Add these suggestions to make a Walkman carrier extra special.

After finishing a CD / Walkman crocheted carrier, add these embellishments to make the case extra special.

Belt Loops

Sl st across 4sts just worked, ch8 to create a 2 1/2-inch Belt Loop and attach with a sl st to the fptr made in rnd3 that is 2 or 3 inches below bag opening, ch 3, turn, sl st to the nearest dc made in rnd1, *dc in each ch of Belt Loop, at top of bag, sl st into 3rd hdc from the first start of Belt Loop*, sl st across next 5sts along top of bag, ch8, sl st to the dc made in row1 that is directly 2 or 3 inches below bag opening, ch3, sl st to nearest fptr made in row3, rep from * to *, sl st along rem sts of bag opening, fasten off.

Flower Stamen

With size E hook and one strand of 6-plied (yellow) rayon embroidery floss, leaving a 6-inch length at beg, ch9, sc in first ch of ch9, [ch8, sc in same ch as first sc] 4 times, ch4, sl st into base of 3rd stamen "leaf", leaving a 6-inch length, fasten off.

Pass the beg and ending lengths through center sts of rnd1 of flower and tie ends in a knot behind flower.

Center

With size H hook, attach new color with a sl st to any dc post of rnd1 of Case Front, [ch3, sl st around post of next dc of rnd1] around, fasten off.

Trim

With Back facing, with size H hook, attach color of choice to 1 lp of seam ridge where Strap meets Gusset, working into this seam ridge all around bag, sl st loosely into top lp of every other st, draw up the lp of each sl st approximately 1/2 inch, continue in this manner along the edge of Strap to start of trim, then turn and add trim to edge of bag opening along Back, fasten off. Attach to the Case Front, on the ridge between the flower and gusset, rep as for Back along Case Front, Strap and front opening, fasten off.

Second Trim

With size H hook and a strand each (6 plies) of embroidery floss, attach to lower edge of a petal made in rnd 2, work reverse sc along the edge of each petal, including around each picot of rnd 2, join in beg reverse sc, fasten off.

Finishing

Thread elastic through large-eyed yarn needle, weave elastic through the inside of bag opening. Draw elastic to desired tightness (bag will not be closed, just snugly gathered), tie ends of elastic in a knot, weave in ends, fasten off.
